English Language Support in Residential Colleges

The Center for Language Education (CLE) is proud to present a new program:

Language Learning Counsellor

Cooperated with six residential colleges, the CLE aims to provide even easier access to language learning support for students, themed workshops based on students’ needs and featured activities that help cultivate English-learning culture on campus. 

Starting from Week 7 (April 2nd),  CLE counsellors are available at residential colleges from 12:30-13:50. Students are more than welcome to come to meet counsellors during this time with any questions related to English language learning or learning resources at the CLE. There is no need to book in advance. JUST WALK IN!

COUNSELOR PROFILES

 

Xiao SHI

  • Graduated from University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education
  • Specialized in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
  • Experienced in teaching English for Academic Purpose
  • Rich experience in guiding students through study abroad programs

 

Zirui LIU (Rachel)

  • Graduated from University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education
  • Worked with numerous senior students with graduate school applications, CV writing, personal statements and statement of purpose writing 
  • Experienced in standardized tests preparation for studying abroad, TOEFL, IETLS and GRE

 

 

Xing WEN

  • Graduated from Sun Yat-sen University
  • Worked in CLE for more than two years
  • Strong in guiding students in English CET test preparation
  • Provided student tutoring in a variety of language study problems, including test prep, essay editing, personal statement, etc

 

 

Ruihong ZHU (Simon)

  • TESOL graduate from New York University
  • Experienced ESL tutor for more than 20 international students, helping them with reading, academic writing, and conversation practices 
  • Specialist in preparing students for Postgraduate Entrance Exam of English
