The CLE Movie Discussion Club combines a love for film with a desire to speak English.
Participants meet monthly to discuss selected films in English. Two movie-crazy CLE faculty, Rongrong Dong and Al Evans, are the co-founders and co-leaders. Working together, they guide discussions for participants, making it easy to talk about films in English. Moviemaking techniques and film criticism issues are frequently included.
The club have watched films in numerous languages from a variety of genres. Occasional guest speakers are invited to provide cultural perspectives. Discussions frequently spill over into the club’s social media group.

The CLE Movie Club met on April 19th to discuss the film and its topics of raising and educating gifted children. Throughout one hour of discussion, the participants addressed nature versus nurture, as well as cultural differences between China and the USA and other issues.
