SUSTech students win multiple awards at 12th "League Cup" Undergraduate English Writing Competition Final

On May 24, 2025, the 12th “League Cup” Undergraduate English Writing Competition Final and award ceremony were held at the Guangzhou College of Technology and Business.

Three students form the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) achieved remarkable results in the competition. Aoxuan Wen was awarded the Grand Prize in the non-English group, and Aochen DENGZHANG and Xinyi LIU won the Second Prize in the same group.

The competition was jointly organized by the Advisory Committee for University English Teaching in Guangdong Province, the English Major Sub-Committee of the Advisory Committee for Foreign Language Majors in Guangdong Province, and the English Writing Teaching Alliance of Universities in China.

A total of 154,401 university students from 65 colleges and universities in Guangdong Province participated in the competition, with 267 advancing to the final.

The excellent performance achieved by the three finalists from SUSTech reflects the English writing proficiency of students at the University and the achievements of its distinctive foreign language program.

The Center for Language Education (CLE) has been continuously advancing the reform of English writing instruction. By innovating teaching methods and enriching practical activities, it has significantly enhanced students’ comprehensive English proficiency, establishing a high-quality platform for cultivating globally competent English talents.
