"Burning Foil Painting & Chinese Learning" SUSTech international faculty and students celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival together
On the afternoon of June 18, 2026, the Center for Language Education hosted a special Dragon Boat Festival event themed "Burning Foil Painting & Chinese Learning" for international faculty and students across the university, attracting more than 20 participants.
At the event, Dr. Shen Wei gave an introduction to Dragon Boat Festival customs and relevant Chinese expressions, and to burning foil painting, an intangible cultural heritage craft. During the hands-on session, Dr. Shen presented all materials in detail and walked participants through every step. Holding metal foils, tweezers, and brushes, the international faculty and students carefully pasted gold foil onto the patterns to make the artworks shine brightly. The activity brought a vivid touch to the promotion of the Chinese language and traditional culture.
